To Drink or not to Drink
Is the question you must ask yourself.

In (Prov.23:31) say’s “look not upon the wine when it is red”, a drink which brings “woe, sorrow, babbling, and wounds” (Prov 23:29) a drink which is deceptive(Prov.20:1) a drink which perverts the judgment causing thine eyes to behold strange women and thine heart to utter strange things (Prov 23:32,33)

The bible uses the word wine to refer to both alcoholic fermented beverage as well as unfermented grape juice. According to (Isa. 65:8) the new wine is found in a cluster and there is blessing in it. ( Grapes vines cluster together) This is obviously the unfermented, freshly squeezed juice of the grape. Referring to the communion wine served, Jesus told His disciples that he would not participate in the service again until he “drank it new with them in the Father’s kingdom” (Matt 26:29). The communion wine representing Christ’s pure, undefiled Blood must be unfermented since fermentation is a sign of sin. Christ also created unfermented wine at the wedding feast. In (1 tim. 5:23), What did Paul mean when he instructed Timothy to take a “ a little wine for the stomach’s sake” . ‘it’s obvious that Paul was not advocating social drinking in this passage. He clearly states, Drink no longer water” (anyone who has traveled in the middle east knows the difficulty to getting pure , unpolluted water.) but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities. Whatever kind of wine Paul was talking about (fermented or unfermented), it is exceedingly plain that the purpose of his counsel to Timothy was due to his stomach ailments. Unfermented grape juice has healthy properties for the body. Indeed there is blessing in the freshly squeezed juice of the grape.

Just little wine is ok as long as you don’t get drunk.. a little pot, crack as long as I don’t use it everyday? Come on, a lie is a lie not matter how small. God want us to live health, nothing good can come from drinking alcohol. Take a few moments and think about something good in your life or friend's life that came from drinking. Now, think of how many bad things have happen to you or a friend? Hello!! , Our Lord knows, what we get from drinking is only a self satisfaction. We need to focus on things that uplifts ourselves and others toward Christ.

Don’t defile God’s temple, would you throw a small egg at a church? It’s not going to destroy the church but it will defile the church. Well, your body as we know is a temple (or church where of Lord lives) why are you defiling his house within you.

Thou shall not kill, also means the brain cells you kill with every drink of alcohol. We need every cell, in order for us to maintain a close communication with of savoir.

Alcohol is a strong deceiving tool of the devil, In the pass, I used to drink and work in a bar. I came to realize how the devil fools us. With the lights off the nightlife looked great, the women looked good and the music was happening. But, when the lights came on after the bar closed. Wow!!!, the truth was visible. There is a vomit, urine, broken glass, gum, trash and other nasty stuff on the floor and all around. The devil, uses smoke and mirror to fool man to think they are having a good time and that they are missing out on something if they are not parting, hanging out or drinking up a storm. Alcohol clouds our minds, etc. We know all the harmful effects of drinking.. Why must we wait until we lose everything before we’ll listen to God’s words.. Ask yourself why do I drink? Because I like it, It makes me feel good, I can’t talk to people unless I drink. I’m a shy person without it. I can’t help my self.

With Christ, you can over come the desire to drink. Also, just think how saying No, can give you another reason to witness to ours about how much we are loved by God - that he told us the about harmful things in life.
